Welcome to the website of the Turkish Embassy in Libya.
Turkey and Libya are two friendly and brotherly countries. Our deep-rooted historical, cultural and human ties constitute the strong basis of close relations between the two countries and its peoples.
Our Embassy in Tripoli, evacuated in July 2014 due to the deterioration of the security situation, returned to the Libyan capital from Tunis on 30 January 2017 and since then has been continuing its functions in Tripoli uninterruptedly. Embassy’s Consular Section has also been providing its services in Tripoli since 17 April 2017. Turkish General Consulate in Misrata is operational. The General Consulate in Benghazi which was evacuated in June 2014 still remains closed.
Since starting my tenure as the Ambassador of Turkey to Libya on January 13th, 2019, my colleagues and I have been working to further develop Turkey-Libya relations in all fields based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and solidarity.
Libya has been going through difficult and turbulent times. It is our sincere wish that lasting stability could be achieved in Libya by the establishment of a democratic constitutional system and a functioning contemporary civilian state with all its institutions. Turkey will continue rendering its support to the UN led efforts to this end. We are hoping for peace, stability and prosperity for our Libyan sisters and brothers. Turkey will always stand by Libya and the brotherly Libyan people.
You can follow the activities, statements and notices of our Embassy from our facebook page and twitter account, as well as our website.
I convey my heartfelt greetings and respect to all our citizens, Libyan brothers and sisters, and all other visitors of our website.
